School Library EdCamp SD is an annual professional development event sponsored jointly by the South Dakota Library Association (SDLA) and the South Dakota State Library (SDSL). It is held held concurrently each spring in Rapid City and in Sioux Falls.
What exactly is an edcamp? It's an 'unconference' conference that seeks to join professionals to network together and learn from each other. An EdCamp agenda is created by the participants at the start of the event; sessions are not scheduled ahead of time like a traditional conference. Instead, content is participant-driven, flexible, casual, and decided the morning of the event. Because of this, people are encouraged to come prepared to share ideas and expertise. It's a time to learn something new, network with other librarians, and leave with new ideas and practical information you can apply in your library and professional life.
