South Dakota State Library Services: School Library Boot Camp

A list of services provided by the South Dakota State Library.

What is Boot Camp?

School Library Boot Camp is a multi-day, annual training opportunity for all types of educators - teacher-librarians, classroom teachers, reading specialists, paraprofessionals, and administrators. Boot Camp is a graduate or undergraduate level college course offered by Black Hills State University and the SD State Library.

The theme for Boot Camp 2018 is titled: 21st Century Literacies: The School Library Connection.  We'll learn about digital literacy, media literacy, and information literacy and how these can be used to advance teaching and learning in the library and classroom.

All hotel reservations and costs, as well as meals and transportation costs, are the responsibility of the individual student. However, full scholarships are available to cover tuition cost.

Some evening hours are required. Students will need to bring an Internet-ready device. Wi-Fi will be provided.

Registration for this event opens in the spring.
