Description: Offering hundreds of units to supplement social studies and science core curricula learning, TrueFlix® is a highly-engaging multimedia resource that can be used in the library, the classroom, on mobile devices, or at home. Scholastic will attempt to record the webinar for us; but if the webinar fails to record properly, there is a short video tutorial contained within TrueFlix, and also within the State Library's Resource Guides-- on the BookFlix/TrueFlix page.

December 4: Genealogical resources, including the new Fold3, by ProQuest

Description: This hour-long webinar introduces Fold3, a resource that provides access to US military records, including stories, photos and documents. Following this, we'll review Ancestry Library Edition and HeritageQuest, which contain complementary genealogical record sets for more than 60 countries. No prior Ancestry experience is required!

January 9, 2020: Discover Primary Sources in U.S. History with your South Dakota State Library Gale Resources

Description:  U.S. History is often hard to grasp, but primary sources can help students and adults alike see history from new perspectives. Your state library has access to great archives with primary sources including newspapers, personal narratives, sermons, manuscripts and more. Your collections include information to research the American Revolution, Indigenous Peoples, Westward Expansion, Slavery, the Civil War, and 19th century newspapers. In this one-hour session we will review the content and navigation of your Gale archival resources, as well as best practices for student and public use. THIS WILL BE A 60 MINUTE WEBINAR.
