Western Dakota Tech in Rapid City offers online and on-site library coursework leading to a 1-year  (undergraduate) diploma or a 2-year certificate

The South Dakota State Library offers training (Public Library Institute) every summer for rural public librarians leading to a SD Certificate in Public Library Management after four years.  SDSL also offers the School Library Boot Camp every summer for any school administrator, teacher, librarian or paraprofessional. This is theme based and can be repeated; the first year one can receive 2-credits from BHSU toward school library media endorsement and/or a school library media minor.
