Annual Library Surveys
The State Library conducts two annual surveys:
Public Libraries Survey (PLS): Feb 1 – Mar 31
Collects financial, service, trustee, and policy data. This serves as the annual report required by state statute for all designated public libraries.
School Libraries Survey (SLS): Apr – May
Gathers data on budgets, facilities, circulation, programs, staffing, and activities from public, tribal/BIE, and non-public school libraries.
Combo school/public libraries complete both surveys.
Survey data helps librarians, trustees, and administrators with strategic planning and informed decision-making.
